Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first single was released on the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her independent single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate with Rihanna. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat is a song that was written by her and Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 two new singles titled The No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and made the track available in a solo version to the album she released her debut. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
